Data Privacy & Approved Technology List
Region 12 Schools are committed to ensuring the privacy of our student information data and for providing technology services that provide educational opportunities in a safe environment. The region complies with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) as well as Children's Online Privacy Protection Rule (COPPA) legislation.
With the recent passage of CT PA-189 - An Act Concerning Student Data Privacy - the region is now publishing a list of approved technology resources used by teachers and students within the district. All of the technology resources listed below have gone through a vetting and scoring system to ensure their Terms of Service and Privacy Policy comply with PA-189.
If the region has signed an additional contract or addendum to the Terms of Service, it will be available for viewing by clicking the 'Approved Technology List' button below. This list is continuously evolving as we add new resources.
The document container below will house contracts executed with vendors hired by the district who may have access to student data. These contracts are executed only when vendors agree to the criteria required in CT PA-189 regarding the privacy and safe keeping of that data.
