This year on December 20th, the Washington Primary Students "traveled" to Morocco and Argentina. Every year, our students spend a morning learning about the celebratory customs of other countries’ holidays. The teachers develop engaging activities that allow our students to understand how our customs are similar and different to other countries. With parent participation and Shepaug student volunteers, Holidays Around the World is a rich experience enjoyed by all.
This week we held our first "Community Table" lunch. The whole school--grades K-5-- ate together in the cafeteria, teachers and students alike. The cafeteria was transformed into a place for a special dining experience! Students were assigned a buddy lunch partner from a different grade that they sat and chatted with. After lunch, the whole school will enjoyed recess together!
